Produced by MMTB to provide procedures for the recovery of tramcars and buses by the Emergency Vehicle Crew known as R10 - their radio call sign. Includes many photographs showing equipment in use. Prepared based on photographs during the 1960s. Provides details on the use of equipment for derailments, damaged equipment including the use of transporter bogies on trams.Shows the preparation of training materials for the Emergency Recovery crews.Folder by "Rexel nyrex" - green covered plastic containing 24 clear plastic sleeves. Each sleeve has two sheets back to back with some black and white photographs, typed foolscap. The folder has a typed tab or document titled "Emergency Procedures". Set of 14 black and white photographs of the use of former sleeper transport car, W2 485 - see page 80 of Destination City 5th Edition for more details of the tram. Tram body being used to train emergency staff how to recover a tramcar that had been tipped over onto its side. DC5, notes it was stored at Preston workshops and later "used an instruction car to train emergency crews in the righting of the overturned trams. It was overturned several times in this role." Note: - would have been at the time, probably the only way to do this, as mobile cranes were only just starting to be developed. Truck is an AEC built Matador truck. Model of Bendigo bogie, ex Hawthorn Tramways Trust, four centre doorways, tram, No. 23 in a SEC colour scheme with the destination of Quarry Hill. The Modeller has detailed the seats throughout the tram and the controls. Balsa wheels had broken off, repaired with 'O' gauge wheels along with other parts by the Museum's model builder.Demonstrates model tram building. One of a series of Ballarat and Bendigo tram models. The two photographs show cable trams being shunted into the Brunswick Cable Tram Depot or car house from Sydney Road. The first shows a horse pulling a bogie tram trailer into the car house while the second shows the grip being pushed in by hand. Note the raised position of the grip when this shunting task is performed - 1920s.
