Around the base of the head dress are attached net covered “lilies” each with a tear-drop shaped pearl bead at the centre. An elastic band is attached to hold the head dress firmly to the head. The head dress originally also held a veil. Cream in colour. Pure wool, fawn in colour, men’s cardigan. Five button, V neck front. One pocket on either side of front. Front band is 3.5cms wide and lined with cotton fabric, from the V opening to the hem to support buttons and button holes. Overlocked seams. A fine rib pattern, one cm wide is separated by a narrow one stitch gap. A finer rib, two stitches wide forms the cuffs, and lower band. Faram Bros had occupied this site since 1919Forty two (42) colour photographs (digital) taken on 10 February 2007 at the community farewell, street party and BBQ for the closure of Faram Bros hardware shop. Party held in street outside 405-415 Bay Street. Attended by many PMHPS members and former customers. A 3 piece band and lone piper (bagpipes) were highlights. Peach coloured nylon nightgown made by HANRO Bendigo. Bodice gathered at front onto a plaited band under the bust. On each side of the band three ties (102cm) extend from the ends of the plaited band. Shoulder straps made up of three pieces of nylon tubing attached back and front and plaited over each shoulder. Back of bodice in two pieces. Ankle length A line skirt. Colour at bodice is pale peach colour that darkens as it descends to the hem where it becomes a deep orange colour. Nightie given to donor by her grandmother who received the nightie as a prize at a Hanro meeting.
