This jacket has been adapted from a RAAF Service dress jacket to resemble a RAAF Battle Dress Jacket. possibly made in the Norther Territory or on the Islands WW2. Collar, shoulder epaulettes, long sleeves with cuffs and buttons, two front patch pockets with concealed button flaps. Waistband with belt strap and metal slide buckle to fasten jacket. The names on the roster are a who's who of the RSL at the time, except for two names all the sellers were WW2 era members being a list of President current, ex Presidents, Life members, Committee and notables. The hand written notes were by Jack Barnes OAM. The 38th Bn 1st AIF was raised in Bendigo in March 1916. The Battalion served in WW2 (although not going overseas) until finally being disbanded in 1962. An assoociation of Ex Members was formed after WW1.This is a small oval badge, colours - gold lettering set on a background of dark blue over red half ovals.
