Pam SNOWDON worked in the office at Graham Street Primary School for 40 years and was there when the school had a badge making machine. This machine was used to produce badges from adults & students own designs.The school was still known at this time as Graham Street Primary to distinguish it from Nott Street State School. John TURNBULL was a prominent citizen of Sandridge/Port Melbourne. He started as a baker in Bay St then moved to the corner of Rouse and Nott Streets where he ran his baking business until leasing the premises to various licensees as The Auld Reekie Hotel. The Sands & McDougall Directory of 1880 shows Turnbull owned this store in Rouse Street, next door to the hotel. He served on Council for 15 years with one term as Mayor, 1877-78. John TURNBULL died on 13 March 1889.
