Sleeves edged with fine gathered lace. Skirt made from three panels. Two sections are of fine emblems, edged with a wide band of lace with scalloped edges. Third panel is of fine cotton on the LHS. This panel has fine vertical pintucks from the waist to below hips. Wedding dress cream coloured full length satin with long sleeves and a train. Sleeves gathered at the shoulder with lily pointed at the wrist. Sleeves have six fabric covered decorative buttons with three metal press studs underneath. Bodice has curved midriff panel with four pintucks defining the panel. Bodice tightly gathered at top of midriff panel. Side opening with plackett with five press studs. Two flounces at LHS from a single piece of fabric folded in half, stitched to side seam just below the sleeve(34cms). A single tie on LHS stitched to side seam at waistline (29cm). Back of the bodice has an opening from the top(10cm) fastened at neckline by two covered buttons and a hand stitched loop. Nine covered decorative buttons at centre back.Peaked collar front and back in two parts (10cm at front peaks).Front and back have centre panel with two panels shaped at the hipline. Back centre panel extends to form a long train. Length waist to centre front hem 102 cms.Length waist to centre back hem 187 cms to form train. Handkerchief hem at lower hemline. Long sleeved burgundy coloured coat - velvet fabric lined with ''dusty pink'' satin with woven floral pattern. Lining hand stitched to coat. Second layer of cotton lining across the shoulders and back( 39cmsLength). Sewn into neck and shoulder seams. Large uneven stitches attach the lining to side seams. Coat and lining have seven gored panels giving fullness to the coat. Fold over collar (14 cms). Front opening with ten velvet covered shanked buttons with fabric loops. Long sleeves gathered at shoulder and cuffs(2 cms), with six cms opening with press stud fastener.Owner of coat was Isabel Lilian Pegler (nee Mair) 1921-1997. The coat was worn to Saturday night dances. Isabel liked to point out that her coat had a double lining in the upper back for extra warmth as she liked to wear backless dresses to the dance.costume, female, long sleeved coat

V shapes on front, edged with the silvery satin as seen on the sleeves of the bocice. Front and back of skirt are decorated with three flat bows of silk fabric, grey grosgrain ribbon, and gold lurex knitted fabric. Appears to match the boned bodice, but probably the waistline has been extended, as it is now finished with totally different fabric. ( Grey taffeta).costume, female, evening or sunday best
