Most of the photos were pasted on something originally so that now most of the writing is unreadable. Two large photos have stamped in red & blue on rear "Gepruft Stalag XVIII A". These were censored POW post cards. .1)The man standing centre is Walter FORBES VX953, on his right is Doug Gregor VX981. Both were POW's. Refer 1101, 1102, 1106..1) Envelope, fawn colour with B & W copy of original photo showing 3 soldiers set in photo corners on one end. The other end has typed details re the contents. .2)-.47) Forty-six photos inside the envelope, B & W, Sepia, all sizes up to Post card size covering the following subjects. Medal
An example of the Liberation Medal, fifth class, issued by the government of Kuwait for service during the Liberation of Kuwait campaign in the Gulf War of 1990 to 1993. This medal was provided to eligible Australian service personnel however is not worn as an official service decoration. This medal is engraved with the following; Hillier D. N. service number 322256. These are made of Bronze with coloured enamel features and have a ribbon with red, white and green vertical stripes. The medal complete with a service ribbon, is in a plastic presentation case which is stored in a protective cardboard sleeve. -

Two copies a typed letter with printed letterhead, dated March 7, 1938. Letter is from ? Moody of Moody's Dye Works Ltd. To Scalebuoys (N. Z.) Ltd. He mentions since using the Scalebuoy soap is more readily and completely removed from goods that have to be wet cleaned and also gives better penetration for dyeing. He also mentions that the boiler was in better condition and they have stopped using the compound they were using. One of a group of slides taken by members of the Society of built heritage in Kew in 1979-80. The selection of subject matter reflects the priorities of the period. The colour of some slides has degraded.The slides represent a snapshot in time of built architecture in Kew, much of which has changed in the forty-plus period since they were created.Colour positive transparency (slide) of 'Ramornie' in Pakington Street , Kew in 1979. Ramornie was built for the Scottish solicitor, James Maitland Campbell. He employed his brother William M. Campbell as architect, and N. W. Frogley of Prahran as builder. Campbell was Mayor of Kew on three occasions. The house was built during his first tenure of the mayoral office. After a succession of tenants and owners in the 20th century, Ramornie became known as ‘The Towers’, and was converted into a boarding house. Pickwick Clubs were established around the world in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, inspired by the first novel of Charles Dickens. A Kew branch was formed in Kew in 1897 and lasted until c.1912. Its membership was drawn from a number of notable Kew families. The club published two booklets, the first in 1904 and the second in 1912. In addition to holding meetings, club members performed in productions of Shakespearian plays in the Recreation Hall in Wellington Street Kew. Members of the club adopted pseudonyms based on characters in Dickens' novels. Functional Object - Cap Badge, Stokes & Sons Melbourne, "Tramways Superintendent", 1930's?
1939 Cap Badge for the "Tramways Superintendent". Made from cast brass to indicate the position held by the wearer on their cap as part of their uniform. Cast in the form of the handwritten or script word/s and underlined. On the rear, silver soldered on are two brass loops at either of the badge to enable the badge to be sewn or fitted with clips onto the cap. Fitted through the loops are brass clips for securing onto a cap. Possibly indicates never been used. On the back of the back of the badge in very small letters is the name of the manufacturer - Stokes & Sons / Melbourne. Note the same manufacturer logo as for the "Tramways Superintendent", Reg. Item 1938. Used by the SEC only? Assumed collected by Les Denmead from spares held by the SEC. 1939.1 - as for 1939, but appears to have been n n ickle plated on the front and then painted with a brownish covering which has partially come away from the plating to give a burnished appearance. Only has one brass securing clip. Worksheet amended 3/8/03. These post cards of Alexandria, Egypt have been sent by an Australia soldier on active service, probably in Egypt, during World War One. The cards have been sent to Miss May Harvey of Naringal. No information has been found on either the sender of the post cards or the recipient. This album is of considerable interest as it is a local souvenir of World War One, a set of post cards sent to Miss May Harvey who lived in Naringal at the time (about 1916). This is a packet of 24 detachable post cards –black and white photographs of Alexandria, Egypt, produced during World War One. The post cards are intact and have tissue paper protecting each card. The cover is red with gold and black lettering and a black and gold stamped ornamental badge with a circle containing the initials, ‘L. C.’ The post cards have been stapled into the packet. Each post card is labelled in French, as is the title on the front.Front Cover: ‘E. The Aims of the CMHS are ‘to record the history of the City, and register something of the Australian Atmosphere, which the necessary speed-up in post-world-war two (WW11) immigration has caused to be lost; to produce a magazine at regular intervals, featuring the work of pioneers and the changing Australian scene; to work constantly with a long range view towards building a hall where records and exhibits can be housed’ (1961) The Original Newsletters reflect the history and heritage of the former City of Moorabbin — derived from Mooroobin, ‘a resting place’ in the Bunurrung spoken language.
