The letter was answer to H. Victor Evans No.418655, successful applicant to join RAAF flight crews. Stated training at capacity currently and expected to be called up in Sept 1942. Refer Cat 1760.4 (Box 41).Single sheet of yellowed paper with tattered edges. A Legacy ceremony at the Shrine of Remembrance. One of the annual "Anzac Commemoration Ceremony for Students" events, usually held just prior to ANZAC Day. The ceremony provides a valuable opportunity for students to gain an appreciation of the Anzac spirit, the significance of the Shrine and the meaning of Anzac Day. The photo shows the view from the Shrine Balcony with the attendees seated below. The proof sheet contains more images of the service, Legatee Graham Riches interviewing school students, and students holding wreaths. This book contains information for children on a great variety of topics and is in the form of a catechism with questions and answers. Pearl Davidson would be a member of one of the pioneer Davidson families. The brothers, James, John and William Davidson were early settlers in the Warrnambool district. This book is of antiquarian interest as an early instructional guide for children. It is also of interest because it belonged to a member of the Davidson family, important early settlers in the Warrnambool area. This is a hard cover book of 474 pages. The cover is a mottled brown with gold lettering on the spine. The binding is much worn and partly torn away.
