In 1952, the local Sunbury Progress Association sponsored the 'Back to Sunbury' celebrations which were held from 13th to 20th September 1952. The festivities celebrated 100 years of settlement (white) and provided a time for many long-time residents to get together. A.F. Perry was the president of the organising committee for the Back To Orbost celebrations in March 1937. M.W. It was sung by Jeanette McDonald and Nelson Eddy in the musical "Maytime" "Carry Me Back to Old Virginny" is a song which was written by James A. Bland (1854–1911), an African American who wrote over 700 songs. It is an adaption by Bland of the traditional "Carry Me Back to Ole Virginny" popular since the 1840s and frequently sung by Confederate soldiers during the American Civil War. It was sung in the 1937 musical "Maytime" this item is an example of songs that were popular in the mid 20th century.Sheet music for "Will You Remember (Sweetheart)" The cover is black/white and has details of the composer and lyricist.
