The reunion was held during Easter 1936, from 10th to 13th April. Its highlight was a visit by the Moorabbin City Band, which performed at various events including a Grand Concert on Easter Saturday. James Garland Colliver lived and worked in Linton between 1863 and 1875, when he moved to Donald. He was actively involved in Linton's business and community life. (See Colliver family file at LDHS.) This photograph may show two adjacent business premises on the east side of Sussex Street, north of Clyde Street: Edwin Ball or Ball Brothers, blacksmiths, and J.G. Colliver, "Machinist". The Ball and Colliver families were related and are understood to have worked collaboratively. Part of S E Surman collection (album) page 26 top left. The Shire of Grenville built the Shire Offices and Hall in the mid 1860s. The building comprised a Council Chamber on the ground floor, and upstairs a large hall with a stage, this room was used for meetings, balls, concerts and other entertainments. This building was replaced with a single-storey building in 1939.
