Mary Poulter and sons in Greensborough. The boys could be William (b1865) and Arthur (b1867). Mary appears to be in mourning, her husband William died in 1888. William Poulter and his wife Mary arrived in Victoria in 1849 and settled in Greensborough in 1853. Descendants of the family still live in the area. The old house was completely destroyed by fire circa 1960. The 'picker' is believed to be Sarah Jane Price who was the mother of William Partington's first wife Mary Jane Price. William married Mary Jane Price in 1889. Sarah Price was the mother of Mary Partington. After Mary's death in 1900, Sarah came to Willis Vale to help with Mary and Will's small daughter Eva. Sarah stayed at Willis Vale until her death on 29/9/1927. Will married Annie Medhurst, who had four children.
