Joe Hockey was Treasurer in the Abbott (Liberal Coalition) ministry. He also served in the Howard (Liberal Coalition) ministry. The book was written when he was still an MP and speculated upon whether he would ever become Prime Minister of Australia. However he is no longer in parliament and went on to become the Ambassador of Australia to the United States. The book also contains personal biographical detail. Norm Borchers was a long-term trade unionist (Amalgamated Engineering Union and the Australian Railways Union) and ALP member; he lived and worked in Ballarat.
