Newspaper Clipping (p7) from "Catholic", No. 178, November 1998, contains the story written by Mother May Oliver, Imp. James O'Collins RC Bishop of Ballarat, January 1945, chapter 7 of "All for All", relating to the life of the 'the young girl countess Elizabeth Wolff-Metterich of Germany. The story revolves around her visit to Melbourne and Ballarat - in particular the visit to Lorretto - sighting of 'a tram (streetcar) bearing 'convent' as its head sign'. The reference to arrival by tram in the article suggests by the author that the Countess arrived by electric tram (by the use of the word 'streetcar'. In actual fact, date of visit was 1898, so it would have be the horse tram. A large thick, heavy green hardcover Girl's Own Annual Volume 46 with a large square picture depicting two women walking in the snow holding bunches of holly. The title is in red print and there is holly surrounding the illustration. The spine has the title printed in gold lettering, holly leaves and Vol 46 in black type at the bottom. Two Bendigo Advertiser newspaper articles with Amy Huxtable Women's Editor and a part of her series titled, 'At the Art Gallery.' The first article is titled 'The Story Teller with a touch of magic.' Peter Leonard is a story teller and a puppeteer and is performing at the Bendigo Art Gallery. It includes a photo of Mr. Leonard and also a photo of his puppets. A copy of a speech given by Legatee Bert Davis at Glenburn Hall on Anzac Day 2005. It tells the story of his grandfather Lieutenant William Edwin Davis who served in the Boer War and then was killed on Gallipoli. Also William's son, who also enlisted in the first World War in France and married a Welsh nurse and returned to Australia and were Bert's parents. There was also a story of William's widow Mrs Maud Davis who was involved with the War Widows Guild and was one to the ladies approached by the founding Legatees when they wanted to established Boys Classes in the 1920s.
