Arthur Henry Miers played for cricket, football and baseball teams in Kew for a number of decades in the first half of the twentieth century. He was born on 22 November 1901, the son of Rodolph Theophilus Miers (1874-1951) and Margaret Frances (Margaretta) Fry (1875-1958). He had two brothers, Rodolph Cecil Miers (1904-80) and Charles Wilfred Miers (1906-88), and a sister Marjorie Elizabeth Miers (1911-84). Arthur Miers died in Kew on 25 January 1966, and after his body was cremated, his body was interred in the Mausoleum of Boroondara General (Kew) Cemetery.Letter to parents on club activities, dated 4 February 1966arthur henry miers, kew baseball club

Cane is thick with walking stick handle to support weight as well as be an identification that the person using it is blind or vision impaired. This collapsible cane is in four sections joined to each other by braided rubber tubing. Original paper wrapping has instructions on the outside including: 'The top section can easily be identified as it is the thickest of the four and is threaded with an elastic cord for carrying purposes'. An elasticized handle loops around the wrist, when unfolded and in use. Legacy have many programs to send young junior legatees on activities, camps and outings. The photos show a girl trying archery at a camp, one photo has Meiling beside the girl. There are photos of several junior legatees attempting archery from the same event (items 03101 to 03105). There are photos of the same children trying abseiling. The date is not known though it was stored with other photos of Junior Legatees from the 1980s and 1990s. Images from the unveiling of the statue of Sir Thomas Blamey in Melbourne on 27 February 1960. The dignitaries included Prime Minister Robert Menzies and Lady Blamey, the wife of the late Thomas Blamey. The slides have been photographed to make digital images and moved to archive quality sleeves.
