The City of Sunshine conducted regularly council meetings, some were open to the public and others were private. These meetings must follow governance rules so the public can see how decisions are made. Agendas and reports must be published beforehand, and minutes must accurately record decisions. Limestone deposits in the Coimadai area 10 kilometers north of Ballarat were first worked in the 1850s. The area was quarried for limestone for many years by various people and companies. The surveyor's name who produced this plan is inscribed on the map and below this is the name P. L. Alkemade, who presumably paid for the map to be produced. In 1886 Petrus Alkemade in partnership with Matthew Egan established the Alkemade Hydraulic Lime and Cement Company. The Alkemade family were involved in the limestone industry over several generations at Coimadai.Single page map showing part of the Limestone reserve near Coimadai in the Parish of Merrimu. Hand sewn and printed blue and gold wall hanging inviting Mayor and Mayoress Giudice to the Return Ball. The text is printed on the blue central fabric panel which has a gold fringe and tassels. The hanging was handwoven by Lilian Joyce Mann. Ms Mann owned a shop in Jacob Street which sold handmade soft toys and hand woven items. She was a gounding and life member of the Geelong Handweavers and Spinners Guild. She died on the 17th July 2007 in her 92nd year.A tightly woven brown wall handing with a geometric design of rectangles and squares and a bamboo rod at each end.
