In late 2000, Arthritis Victoria (formerly the Rheumatism and Arthritis Association of Victoria) celebrated the 80th birthday of its founder, rheumatologist Dr Leslie Koadlow AO (1920-2006). Around 90 people attended the celebratrions at AV's headquarters, including Dr Koadlow's family, colleagues, and friends. In 2002, a group of nursing students from Holmesglen TAFE visited the Resource Centre at the Arthritis Foundation of Victoria. On the 17th of October, 2000, Arthritis Victoria (incorporating Osteoporosis Victoria) held a seminar on World Osteoporosis Day (WOD). The event was held at the Glen Eira Town Hall Auditorium. 200 participants attended the seminar, which included guest speakers and information displays. In 1999, the Arthritis Foundation of Victoria (AFV) participated in a community expo (location unknown). In 2001, a new national Osteoporosis Australia campaign, "Healthy Bones, Healthy Body", was launched.
