Their original building was in Brook Street near the railway station but they later located their business further down in Brook Street on the corner of O'Shanassy Street. James Massey Herbert was born in 1891 and died in 1971. He was the son of Lancelot Herbert and Martha Rawling. He was married to Alma Young and his sons were Graham and Eric Herbert. ( info. from John Phillips). James was part of the Herbert family of shopkeepers and business people in Orbost. The Herberts were early settlers in Orbost. William was the son of Albrecht Rudolph Alfred Bonzil, who had arrived in Australia from Switzerland. Some time after arriving in Australia he must have Anglicised the family name to Benzley.The Benzley family were one of many families who helped to establish the Wine Industry in Sunbury during the nineteenth century.
