The Arthritis Foundation of Victoria enjoyed the support of many members who volunteered their time to assist the Foundation in supporting its members. This photo depicts member and volunteer, Dorothy Balodis, answering a telephone enquiry at Action House, the Arthritis Foundation of Victoria's headquarters. A different photo of Dorothy appears on page 15 of the No 43, March 1987 issue of the Arthritis Foundation of Victoria's quarterly newsletter, News Review. It accompanies an article titled, "Telephone Volunteers - A Rewarding Interest".Black and white medium close up photo of a woman sitting at a desk. She is on a telephone call. On the desk, there are various papers and folders, two Yellow Pages telephone directories, as well as other office-related items. The desk is in the corner, against the wall, and there is a large noticeboard on the wall above it.[On a yellow sticky note, handwritten in blue ink] AFV Volunteer, Mrs Dorothy Balodis ["Balodis" is crossed out] BALODiS answering telephone enquiry calls.
