A booklet of a list of excursions that was arranged for the visiting members of the British Association for Advancement of Science which included Marysville. These excursions were conducted in August 1914. They included geological excursions as well as excursions to local attractions to observe the flora and fauna found in and around the various destinations. The excursions were to Bacchus Marsh, Marysville, Warburton and Cement Creek, the Macedon District, Emerald, Ballarat and the local district, Bendigo and surrounds, Wilson's Promontory, and the Central Research Farm at Werribee. The photograph is one of a set taken when the children from Bulla Primary School went with a group of exchange students from Asia on a school excursion to Anakie Fairy Park, near Geelong. The park opened in December 1959 by Peter Mayer who was from a German immigrant family. The park is set out with fairy tale models throughout the entire area, such as a castle complete with turrets, dragons and fairy tail creatures.The models are all from well known fabled characters and places featured in traditional stories. Burnt Bridge, Williamson's Creek was an early crossing point for travellers between Geelong and Buninyong in the 19 century and continued to be a significant area when farming developed in the district.
