Long coffee coloured wool lace evening gown with long sleeves and train. According to the donor (see correspondence in supp. file), this gown was made from Australian wool woven in Bradford and made up in Paris. It was given to the Melbourne Legacy Wives Association by Mr Ken Clarke (former head of the Wool Board and a Legatee) for use in a parade of garments by the Legacy Wives Association. The dress is an excellent example of mid-1970s evening wear and comes with its original box and dockets. It was purchased from a local op shop by a Brighton Historical Society volunteer, who subsequently donated it to BHS in 2017. The receipts tell us that the dress was originally purchased from Georges department store on Collins Street by Mrs Eunice Amelia Hill (b. 1917) of 6 Webb Street, Brighton.
