BHS CollectionHanro 100 Ordinary Shares Certificate: Cream Paper with black print. Certificate No. 1738. On the left side is perforations for tearing and a vertical repetitive design of an open book. Each certificate is for 100 ordinary Shares. At the top is printed *Hanro (Australia) Knitting Mills Limited. (Incorporated in Victoria Under the Companies ACT 1928). It gives the breakup, number and the price of the different types of shares. The registered office is 163 - 175 Hargreaves Street, Bendigo. It is a blank certificate. At the bottom is *The Common Seal of Hanro (Australia) Knitting Mills Limited was hereto affixed in the presence of...... Directors..... Secretary. BHS CollectionHanro Advertising Brochure for Night ware Summer 1979. 8 page brochure on a white back ground with a coloured photo of two models wearing nightwear, pyjamas and dressing gowns. The front page is of two models, on the left the model is wearing a long sleeveless night dress with thin straps and gathered across the chest, the night dress has a thin belt at the waist. The long nightie on the right has three quarter sleeves with a peter pan collar, yoke gathered top and a tie front, she is also wearing slippers with matching material. The Hanro company was established in Switzerland in 1884. In 1926 a site in Hargreaves Street Bendigo, behind the School of Mines, was purchased to establish the Bendigo Knitting Mills, a subsidiary of Hanro. The managing director was Charles Handerchin who came from Switzerland. The company was delisted from the Australian Stock Exchange in 1963 when it was taken over by John Brown Industries.Hanro Autumn-Winter Catalogue 1962: The cover is of card with a white background with a large H in blue to the right. Sketched in black pen is a lady with a cardigan buttoned up with six buttons, long sleeves and a collar. Peach coloured nylon nightgown made by HANRO Bendigo. Bodice gathered at front onto a plaited band under the bust. On each side of the band three ties (102cm) extend from the ends of the plaited band. Shoulder straps made up of three pieces of nylon tubing attached back and front and plaited over each shoulder. Back of bodice in two pieces. Ankle length A line skirt. Colour at bodice is pale peach colour that darkens as it descends to the hem where it becomes a deep orange colour. Nightie given to donor by her grandmother who received the nightie as a prize at a Hanro meeting.
