A letter from Mrs M Ring to the Caulfield Historical Society, dated 14/03/1986, conveying gratitude for the information provided about the house Crotonhurst located at the corner of Hawthorn Road and Glen Eira Road, Caulfield North, and requesting information about the Langdon and Webb families and the property Lirrewa. Enclosed with the letter is a copy of a two page report on the Life of George Frederick Webb. The file also includes a seven page report conducted by Irene Victoria Anderson in 1982 on the history of the Langdon and Webb families and the house Crotonhurst. Fine cotton robe with cotton lace inserts on bodice front and two buttons fastening at back. Five pin tucks on skirt then three lace and ribbon bands to hem which is gathered to a band organza lace.

Catherine Danby made this dress. She lived in Ringwood. Her daughter Ruth Webber( nee Danby) later lived in North Ringwood.White lawn nightdress with opening down the back. Lace insert around bodice and four pintucks above hem.

Apron belonged to and was used by midwife Mary Howlett. Mary Howlett (1840-1922) began practising as a country midwife in 1866 in the western district of Victoria. She qualified as a 'ladies monthly nurse' in 1887 and continued to practise as a nurse and midwife until 1920.She began her six months training at the Melbourne Lying-In Hospital. She was known by many as 'Auntie', and her career spanned more than 50 years. Mrs Howlett's midwifery box and contents were given to Dr Frank Forster, and he donated them to the museum collection in 1993.Hand made white linen apron. Consists of a small bib at front, with two long shoulder straps attached to a long gored skirt. Shoulder straps have three mother of pearl buttons, and there are four buttonholes at the back of the waistband of the skirt. The skirt is divided into three gores and has a darted waist. On the right side of the skirt there is a large patch pocket. The skirt is finished with a false hem.midwifery
