The ball was held in the Parish Hall in October 1947. This was the first debutante ball held in Linton after the end of World War II. Organisers were Mrs H. D. Scott (Doris Scott, wife of the vicar) and Mr & Mrs S. Chasey. Debutantes and their partners were: 1. Lesley Hart – Les Crosier. 2. Shirley Howard – Kevin Knight. 3. Rosemary Gillett – Ian Horne. 4. Grace Hearn – Ivan Grigg. 5. Neta Hearn – Neil Lang. 6. Brenda Megee – Geoffrey Megee. 7. Jean Nicol – Alan Holding. 8. Dawn Lancaster – Eugene Grigg. 9. Betty Cahill – Con Palmer. 10. Alma Whately – Kenneth Holding. 11. Gwyneth Smith – Graham Smith. 12. Joan Kerr – Geoffrey Morrisey. 13. Lorraine Nelson – Edward Cheeseman. 14. Esme McDonald – Carl Hoffman. 15. Ivy Hocking – Martin Cahill.
