Reynolds, Western Mining Corporation, 23rd December, 1980. 'R. Wright, Bendigo Office' is written on top right hand corner of document. File note details a meeting held between WMC and Bendigo Trust regarding the development of the Central Deborah Tourist Mine, where WMC would fund a $5,900 feasibility study to develop the mine as a tourist destination. It notes that there has been confusion re the insistence of WMC that the funding relates only to its purpose as a tourist destination and does not include ore haulage and the stamp battery. WMC stated emphatically that it did not envisage using the Central Deborah surface works for its own purposes.bendigo, gold mining, central deborah gold mine, bendigo, gold mining, goldfield, central deborah gold mine, western mining corporation, bendigo trust, bendigo mining nl, j.o. reynolds -

Letter - KANGAROO FLAT GOLD MINE COLLECTION: LETTER RE CENTRAL DEBORAH GOLD MINE DEVELOPMENT
... Mining Corporation, Belmont, W.A., dated 26th June 1980 from J.O..., Belmont, W.A., dated 26th June 1980 from J.O. Reynolds. Letter ...Two page letter to N.R. Hooker, General Manager, Western Mining Corporation, Belmont, W.A., dated 26th June 1980 from J.O. Reynolds. Letter discusses the proposal to develop the Central Deborah Gold Mine and the possible involvement of Western Mining Corporation in its setting up. The Bendigo Trust envisages operating the mine as a tourist operation whilst allowing mining at lower levels. 'The existing headframe and winding equipment would be used for productive operations'. 'Dewatering the mine to 700 ft would be unnecesary for a shallow tourist mine and doing for less than 40,000 was unrealistic'.bendigo, gold mining, central deborah gold mine
