Ian Nunn received the medal from Miss Code when he was 12 years old, believing it belonged to her father Colonel Code who lived at Longlea. Miss Code lived on the family farm on the banks of the Axe Creek. Ian used to collect the mail and newspaper for Miss Code, who paid him two shillings a week.
