The Commander of the 3rd Military District BRIG P. Davies AM ADC attended the function. The social importance of the Fortuna Wives’ Club to the spouse of new members posted to the unit is provided in page 122 of Valerie Lovejoy’s book 'Mapmakers of Fortuna – A history of the Army Survey Regiment’ ISBN: 0-646-42120-4.This is a set of 28 photographs of the opening of the Fortuna Wives Club Retreat at the Army Survey Regiment, Bendigo in December 1991.
