The licensees of the Railway Hotel at the time were O. & E. Webley. Carrie Murrell ran a lending library from her newsagent's shop in Sussex Street. The stamp set used in this library is also in the LDHS collection (Registration No. 1754). Dates during which Miss Murrell ran the library are not known.Novel which was once in Carrie Murrell's privately run 'Linton Library'. Book has a plain green board cover. The building in the foreground, the Linton Public Library, has a car parked in front of it. Other buildings are the house owned by the Nelson family, the Railway Hotel, Dan Cornish's shoe shop and the weighbridge. A gas lamp is attached to the verandah of the library building.
