There is also an 'In Memoriam' inserted by Lydia Chancellor 'in loving memory of my dear husband.' Mr. Chancellor was the loving father of Norma, Hilbert and Claude. There are also three name tags with the name Mr. Norman G. Chancellor on them. A small white envelope addressed to Mr. N.G. Chancellor, Girgarre. It contains two items - a Christmas card and a Bendigo 'Advertiser' newspaper article. The card is a Masonic Lodge card from Bro. N.H. Moller, Master, The Lauderdale Lodge, No. 361 Girgarre, XMAS, 1925. The front of the card has a Lodge symbol and it also has a blue tassel. Also enclosed is an item titled 'Fathers' Association Annual Meeting.' In the body of the article is a recommendation to make Mr. N.G. Lydia Chancellor (1889-Dec 1979) Her parents were George Pethard and Miriam Peatling. George founded Tarax soft drinks in Numurkah in 1898 before moving to Bendigo in 1902 and establishing a brewing factory there. He also built the home "Taraxville" in Panton St. The factory ceased operation in Bendigo during WW1. After the war, the firm was re-established by George jnr, brewing in Melbourne. Lydia married Norman George Chancellor in 1924 but he died 2 yrs later. Lydia returned to Bendigo to care for her mother and began an extensive collection of Toby jugs. She donated 100 jugs to the Bendigo Art Gallery in 1973.
