In 2001, a new national Osteoporosis Australia campaign, "Healthy Bones, Healthy Body", was launched. On the 5th of December 1997, the Arthritis Foundation of Victoria (AFV), incorporating Osteoporosis Victoria (OV), recognised several of its volunteer members with an Oustanding Service Award. The annual volunteers' celebration, which coincided with International Volunteers' Day, was held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). Lou Richards (1923-2017), former player and captain of the Collingwood football team, was the special guest. In this photo, award recipients pose for a group photo while holding their awards.
