The HP-85A was Hewlett Packard's first Series 80 microcomputer, introduced about 1979. It had a keyboard, a dual alpha/graphics monochrome display, a bidrectional alphanumerics and graphics printer, and mass storage tape drive all integrated into a marvelously designed and compact case. It's operating system was seemlessly integrated with a powerful BASIC programming language that included intuitive graphics and input/output capabilities. The HP-85A was also wonderfully expandable through four ports on the back of the case for adding plug in ROMS and modules. Hugh Myddelton Lewis ('Myd') (1911-1995) wrote a brief account of his association with Melbourne Legacy which is more an explanation of the work of Legacy than a personal history and completely omits to mention that he was President in 1969 and held both an OBD and a Croix de Guerre and twice mentioned in Despatches. He served in the British Army Royal Artillery in the Western Desert from 1939-41 and in France and Germany from 1944-1946, leaving the army in 1955 with the rank of Colonel and moving to Melbourne in 1958. In civilian life he worked as the Manager of Public Affairs with C.R.A. until retiring in 1973. During this time he worked tirelessly for Legacy on many committees and was Chairman of the Co-ordinating Council from 1974-1976.Legacy is identified as 'one of the most important influences' for three decades of his life. Victorian Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (VIOSH) Australia is the Asia-Pacific centre for teaching and research in occupational health and safety (OHS) and is known as one of Australia's leaders on the field. During the late 1800s massage was considered effective for combating illnesses and diseases. The VeeDee massager, popular at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th centuries claimed to be beneficial for all kinds of illnesses and complaints, including colds, digestive complaints, rheumatism, headaches, female hysteria, tumours and lung diseases.
