The presentation was made at the Annual Regional Luncheon in Stawell ...In 1994, the Arthritis Foundation of Victoria (AFV) awarded the Ararat Arthritis Support Group with the Mollie Riches Award in recognition of the group's efforts to raise public awareness of the Foundation's work. In this photo, AFV's CEO, Shirley Caulfield, presents the a silver platter to Catherine McAdie, while others (seated) look on. The presentation was made at the Annual Regional Luncheon in Stawell, with members from Stawell, Horsham, Hamilton, and Ararat attending. In conjunction with the event, a pain management seminar was also held on the day. Paper Records for Mt Beauty & District Meals On Wheels, 1960s - 2003
... their goal with volunteers and the Tawonga District Hospital ...Mt Beauty & District Meals on Wheels committee was formed on 6th Dec. 1967, possibly under the Elderly Citizens Welfare Council News (or Senior Citizens Mt Beauty) with service commencing on 16th July 1968. Volunteers transported meals from the Hospital Kitchen to the elderly and sick members of the community each day including weekends. Eventually the Shire managed the meals and roster until recent times when, in 2016, Alpine Health took over. Members of the Mt Beauty community recognised the need for meals to be delivered to the elderly and sick. They formed a committee and organised the means (rules, meals, containers, roster ) by which they could achieve their goal with volunteers and the Tawonga District Hospital. The first delivery was recorded by the press and was on film by AMV 4 Albury TV station for their local news. The official party included - local member, Tom Mitchell, Shire representatives, Alec McCullough and Dr Jean Hutching who joined the volunteers for a luncheon at the Mt Beauty Chalet.Paper records for the Mt Beauty Meals On Wheels Program includes photos, newspaper cuttings, committee documents, roster, petrol book, minute books 1983 - 1998, correspondence book, stationary and a brief history of the first delivery in 1968.meals on wheels; mt beauty; tawonga district hospital; -

The University’s student leaders and academics joined other dignitaries and business representatives for the special event. “The University is deeply honoured to host HRH The Earl of Wessex and share his passion for volunteerism and The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award,” Professor Helen Bartlett, Vice-Chancellor, said. Prior to the luncheon HRH The Earl of Wessex experienced a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony at the University. The program included showing HRH The Earl of Wessex concept plans for a refurbished Sports Science facility at the Mt Helen Campus. Guests were treated to a performance by the Arts Academy’s renowned vocal ensemble Word of Mouth. At the conclusion of the luncheon, HRH The Earl of Wessex planted a tree at the Student Commons Courtyard. The visit to the University by HRH The Earl of Wessex was the first by a member of the Royal Family since Prince Charles visited in 1974. HRH The Earl of Wessex was in Australia to attend the Commonwealth Games and undertake additional engagements to recognise and promote The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award in Australia. HRH The Earl of Wessex, who is the Chair of The Board of Trustees of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, attended 32 engagements across Melbourne, Ballarat, Hobart, Brisbane, and Adelaide, from formal receptions, Award presentations, meetings with government officials and the community sector, to meeting Award Participants and their families at community centres. On Monday the 17th of April, 1989, the Arthritis Foundation of Victoria's Malvern Opportunity Shop held a fashion parade at the Malvern Valley Golf and Reception Centre. The fundraising event, which included a light luncheon and auction, was attended by around 70 people. In this photo, Kay Doherty from the MS Society, acts as compere while AFV op shop volunteer, Enid Hobbs, models an outfit along the catwalk as the seated audience looks on. The event is briefly mentioned on page 3 of the Vol 2 No 2, June 1989 issue of the Arthritis Foundation of Victoria's quarterly magazine, Arthritis Update. The article, which is accompanied by a photo, reports that around $1000 was raised for the AFV on the day. The photo accompanying the article is of AFV staff member, Sue Eagle, wearing a 1950s display wedding gown. The article states that Sue is pictured with Ian Howell from John Travers Studios. The event is also covered in the July 1988 - June 1989 Annual Report. This article is also accompanied by a photo - this time, of Helen Abicair (from Helen Abicair's Model Agency) with Ian Howell. However, in this article, he is stated as being from John Townsend Photographic Studios.
