The three candidates for the division of Rodney were: Hugh McKenzie for the Liberal Party, Andrew White for Labor and Richard Abbott as Independent. the results gave Mr. McKenzie 3575 votes (50.3%), Mr. White 3149 votes (44.3%) and Mr. Abbott 385 votes (5.4%).
