The exhibition opened on Friday 27 November 1998 at 6.00pm. Work was exhibited in the studio spaces in the School of Arts (Visual Arts) building at Mt Helen Campus (incorrectly labelled as Mt Clear on this document). The opening speaker was Peter Stitt. Hedley POTTS (09/11/1936 - 01/06/2023) Hedley Potts studied ceramics at RMIT in the early 1960s. In 1974 he received an Australian Council Crafts Board grant to study overseas, and was visiting artist at the Goldsmith's College, University of London in 1979. He was appointed as Senior Lecturer in Ceramics at the Gippsland Institute of Advanced Education in 1972 when he introduced Ceramics into the program fo the first time. By the 1980s Potts he was a senior lecturer in Ceramics at Monash University's Churchill Campus (now Federation University). In 1995, Hedley Potts was appointed artist in residence at Kingston Arts Centre in Moorabbin. He was one of the artists represented in the Ceramics Victoria Inc 40th Anniversary exhibition in 2009. Lloyd CRUMP (1961- ) Lloyd Crump graduated from Ballarat College of Advanced Education (now Federation University Australia) in 1985 with a Diploma of Fine Art majoring in Ceramics. He was a self-employed potter from 1986-2004. He exhibited this work in the end of year 'Graduat '85' exhibition which was opened by Michael Leunig. This item is part of the Federation University Art Collection.
