The Agora Theatre at La Trobe University was opened in March 1973. The opening was performed by Dame Peggy Van Praagh and the honor of staging the first production went to the Tin Alley Players, a Melbourne University graduates' dramatic group which staged 'A man for all seasons'. Bruce Morgan was the first Shire Secretary (1964-1983) of the Shire of Diamond Valley.
