The photograph is one of a set taken when the children from Bulla Primary School went with a group of exchange students from Asia on a school excursion to Anakie Fairy Park, near Geelong. The park opened in December 1959 by Peter Mayer who was from a German immigrant family. The park is set out with fairy tale models throughout the entire area, such as a castle complete with turrets, dragons and fairy tail creatures.The models are all from well known fabled characters and places featured in traditional stories.
