The flag project was initiated by the Brighton Cemetorians in conjunction with Southern Metropoloitan Cemeteries Trust. An Australian Flag is placed at the foot of the Brighton Cememetry graves of Australian servicemen and women, prior to ANZAC Day and Rememberance Day to publicly commerorate the role theses people had in representing Australia as part of the war effort.
