The Bendigo Church of Christ held its services in the Temperance Hall, View Street, Bendigo for the first sixty years. The chapel in Short Street, Bendigo, pictured on the centenary booklet cover, was officially opened in 1926. It was constructed by Mr. David Streader. A School Hall was added and opened by Cr. G. Bennetts, on Saturday 14th April, 1934. Bendigo Church of Christ Centenary 1866 - 1966 booklet. The Sutton grange Congregational Church was built in 1865. Original services were held in the home of Mr James Grey who served the church for 50 years. The Bendigo Congregational church originally operated out of the Mechanics Institue building before moving temporarily to the Church of England school room. In May 1858, a meeting was held to establish a permanent building and tenders were called in September 1858. Land was purchased in Forest Street from the estate of Mr WIlkinson and the new brick structure was opened 28/11/1858.Manilla folder titled: Congregational Church Bendigo and district. The Anglican church established a tent church on Agitation Hill in 1852. In January 1855 the foundation stone for All Saints was laid on the corner of Forest and MacKenzie Streets. The church opened for worship in June 1856. It was initially named the Anglican Cathedral (seat of the Bishop).
