Financial record - INVOICE COLLECTION: D. Danson & Sons
"Mr D. Danson is one of the leaders of the industry around Bendigo. His property is at Kangaroo Flat, and besides being a grower, he has a factory for the manufacture of pulp and tomato sauce. Mr Danson was engaged in dairying in the Gippsland hill country at Thorpdale, but 14 years ago went to Kangaroo Flat with the object of being near a big centre where there were better facilities for the education and employment of his family. He converted the property of 20 acres at Kangaroo Flat into a dairy farm and established a milk round at Bendigo. The limited area, however, proved a drawback, and attention then was given to tomato growing. After having concentrated on the production side, he installed a plant for the treatment of his own tomatoes, and those of other growers. The fruit is converted into pulp and tomato sauce, for which a good demand is being experienced, orders for pulp being received from New South Wales and Queensland." https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/223202556?searchTerm=D%20Danson%20tomato%20sauce10934.32a: A small, aged sheet of brown paper with two clean punch holes on the left side.
