The book was written to describe the 21 year history of Emerald U3A from its inception in 1992 until 2013. The third age refers to mature age people, homemakers of retirees aged 55 years and over. And the group offers classes, discussion groups and physical activities, generally from tutors who are members of the group. Memoirs were written by a number of Emerald identities, regarding bushwalking, gardening, language and literature, local history and armchair travel and book discussion.
