This item commemorates the war in Vietnam (1962 - 1972).A Viet Cong flag. The top half of the flag is red and the bottom half is a faded blue. In the centre of the flag appears a gold star. LTCOL George Ricketts presented the Defence Force Service Medal to personnel in recognition of 15 years of efficient remunerated service, or the Clasp for 5 years of additional service.
