I thought this one, from 31 January 1979, would be of interest; for 14 of course but I wonder if the yellow car was that of Peter Winspur who looks to be in the picture. I wonder who the other two are? The chap facing the camera could be Neal Elphick? Our hobby and its people are often more interesting than the topic? Magazine - 20 A4 pages centre stapled - titled "MetLines - Vol 1, No. 9 December 1985", staff newspaper of the Metropolitan Transit Authority. Has a number of "Santa Claus" on the front cover. Contains an article on page 8, "Keeping tram lines clean" and "Scrubber Cars" - featuring Frank Reale-Key posing in front of Scrubber 8W. Also has a photo of scrubber No. 11. Gives a background to the cars, when they are used, operated by Civil Branch. Gives hours of use and crews. From an email from Robert Green, 19-08-2021 - advised "The Herald of 10 May 1935, p.4 has the following little paragraph : Cable Tram Tableau Entitled “Transport Cavalcade”: Horse-laughs - real ones – were heard today when a team of horses, drawing a lorry upon which was a dis-used cable tram dummy sporting “Collins Street” upon the front and “South Melb Beach” at the rear, passed along Swanston Street. Neddy’s superiority complex at seeing out these early manifestations of our mechanical age was heightened when the front wheel of a nearby motor-truck fell off."
