Square off-white tile depicting a traditionally clad farmer's wife holding a basket of eggs and watching a hen running from her newly-laid egg. There appears also a proverb written In dialect: "Je kan d'eiers nie telle, vòdat je z'in 't bènnetje eit." (You can't count your eggs till they're in the basket.) A decorative border surrounds the scene and includes © with the initials R.S. The illustrations and wording are in brown. A hook for hanging has been affixed to the back.On the back the tile is inscribed MOSA HOLLAND and bears the numbers 213.

This container is part of a collection of retail packaging, domestic goods, tinplate, made for Bushells, Australia, 1908-1940 In the mid-nineteenth century custom branded tins developed as a tasteful form of advertising. They were often cheap and decorative and found their way into households as gifts, often being kept as ornaments and storage boxes.They have survived well in many homes. This tea caddy is an example of an Australian branded item used in local households. Rectangular metal storage tin printed with scenery of a tea plantation, hills, women carrying baskets and carts. At the top of the front face is the word 'PEEL'. A small cylindrical lid fits on a short neck on the top. Printed around the lid and base is information about Bushells.lid: "Bushells makes 40 more cups to the pound. On bottom: "Net 1lb wt; No.144 - guaranteed under the Pure Food Act; NSW; 1908 by Bushells , Ltd, No.144"

Object. Clear plastic basket, in the shape of a flower carrying basket, with a high looped metal handle. A .8 cm wide satin ribbon bow adorns the top of the handle. Six silk fabric rose buds stand in the basket, with four stems of decorative pearl tipped ''stamens'' and one larger pearl on each stem. Else Oertel and her daughter Else-Lore were interned in Camp 3A from 1940. Her husband was not interned as he was on a business trip to Germany when war broke out. Friedel Dehnel "Tante Fiffi" made the authentic Bavarian doll and clothes. Friedel, wife of Walter Dehnel, arrived as a young woman from Austria, working in the Victorian snowfields as a chef and was a champion skier. She then became a dressmaker for Melbourne society and insisted that she be interned to be with her husband. She made costumes for the internment camp plays and took over her husband's duties as a cook for Camp A when he was locked up for "insubordination". She was deported with her husband back to Germany after the war and cared for her orphaned nephews and nieces in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.Doll dressed in authentic Bavarian costume. The maker and date of this object is unverified due to lack of supporting evidence. It is unknown as to the significance of the engraved Phoenix. Antique Sheffield electroplated silver, copper basket with swing handle. The bowl of the basket is octagonal with incised geometric and circular pattern along the perimeter. Engraved in the bowl of the basket is an image of a phoenix including a smaller image of a phoenix engraved on the swing handle. When removed from the frame, in Sept 1999, for conservation work it was found that probably on three previous re-framings the work had been tacked as the tack heads are clearly visible around the edge and staple marks are also present. The conservator was able to remove some rust but not the staple marks. She feels the 'browning' of the material was caused by the wooden board which the sampler was mounted on.|The conservator stated that the material was cotton 'Tiffany' fabric.Framed sampler of cross stitch headed 'Prudence' 'Hear the Words of Prudence, give heed unto her councils and shore them in your heart. Brown's Self-Interpreting Family Bible. London: John G. Murdoch, circa 1875. Thick folio, full dark brown morocco, beveled edges, all edges gilt, brass trim, clasps and catches. The title, Holy Bible is printed in an indented star shaped decorative surround, around the edges of the letters in the middle of the front cover. The spine has four bands across it with Holy Bible printed in gold lettering at the top. The beautifully coloured Title Page is very decorative all over with tan, pale green, dark green and white patterns. Opposite is a black and white plate depicting Moses in his basket in the bulrushes with his mother hiding behind him. There is a plain black and white title page too with full details, including publisher and other details. At the front, information about the Reverend John Brown is included over several pages as well as details of his Monument Inscription in Haddington Churchyard 19th June A.D. 1787, aged 65 years. Following this is an Introduction to the Right Understanding of the Oracles of God. There are many black and white, plus coloured plates included throughout the Bible. Pp. 1123 (Bible) At the back are many additional inclusions: Alphabetical Index, A Collection of names given to Jesus Christ and others, The Psalms of David in Metre, Hymns and Passages of Scripture Paraphrased.
