The story of the Petrov (spy) affair that happened in Australia during the Cold War. Petrov was a Third Secretary of the Soviet embassy in Canberra; the role was to recruit spies and ensure that none of his countrymen defected from the Soviet Union. It was Petrov's own intention to defect and the Petrovs were granted political asylum in Australia in exchange for providing information about Soviet spy activity in Australia.Relevant to the Cold War era in Australia and espionage activity.Paper; book.
