Carlton Ware was a famous Stoke-on-Trent based pottery manufacturer. The company was established in 1890 by James Frederick Wiltshaw, William Herbert Robinson and James Alcock Robinson trading under the name of Wiltshaw and Robinson. The trademark "Carlton Ware" was introduced in 1894, and the company's factory was renamed the Carlton Works. A light wooden box container covered with shiny brown paper. At the front is a keyhole and slot for coins. The hinged lid has detached. The outside lid is decorated with pictures of egrets and reeds. The side have pictures of ferns. It appears to be Chinese made. container box money-box

In green cloth with a pasted-on colour lithograph illustration. Black and red titles with a black and white frontispiece. 304 pages. Book is in fair the boards show some use and shelf-wear. The front and back covers are worn with some staining and foxing. Corners are worn and holes in spine. Binding tight and text unmarked. Internally there is some light soiling.
