Emily (Ellie) Martin was one of ten children born to James Martin and Bridget Hyde at Spring Hill near Creswick. This farmland was allotted to James c1849. When her mother died James moved them into Ballarat. All the children attended Ballarat School of Mines. Ellie studied Telegraphy at SMB in 1874 and 1875. In 1889 she married Cosby Stockford Mangin Campbell. He had also studied Telegraphy at the Ballarat School of Mines (SMB), the same time as Ellie. Photograph of a woman in a hat.
