This is a short pocket-sized 28-page booklet. The cover is made of blue cardstock, featuring a title, logo and publication year on the front and no writing on the back. There are 7 individual pieces of paper, most with two pages of printed text on both sides, bound with two staples through the spine of the booklet. Within it is a cardstock notice card, providing a template for readers to organise a meeting of a school committee.non-fictionThe book begins with the motto and core beliefs of the V.F.S.S.M.C., followed by a prayer. The main text contains various administrative and procedural rules, sorted into two sections: a template for a constitution of an individual Mothers' Club, and a copy of the official V.F.S.S.M.C. organisational constitution. This 1966 edition of the Victorian Federation of State School Mothers' Clubs Rule Book was published by the Federation to standardise procedure in Mothers' Clubs across the state. In the 1960s, the V.F.S.S.M.C. was highly active in advocating for the improvements in state schools, which at the time were suffering from poor conditions caused by lacking funding, old buildings and little maintenance. The V.F.S.S.M.C. advocated for school libraries, specialist teachers and clerical help, smaller class sizes, and improving the safety of children at school crossings. The organisation was founded in 1925 as the Victorian Federation of Mothers' Clubs, rebranding to the name in this publication in 1959. Nancy Hawley requested one of a pair come to the Emerald Museum . It was brought back from Japan by a friend of Noni Smith after World War 2. Noni Smith was Mr Murphy's nurse for many years Noni died at the age of 90 years . She was principal of Emerald Primary School. This photograph was taken on Beaconsfield Road in Emerald (now Kilvington Drive) looking from Emerald Main Street towards the train line. In the right of the image is the Teasdale store, on the location now used for storage by the Emerald Village Bakery. The store was owned by Joseph and Nell Teasdale, with Joseph's brother Edward operating a leatherworking business behind the store. Joseph and Nell's son, Kevin, suggested that what is now called Stapleton Walk instead be named "Forge Lane or Forge Walk," rather than solely representing Charles Stapleton's business across the lane from the Teasdales. On the left of the image is a sign denoting a school - possibly a back entrance to the nearby Emerald Primary School (number 3381) through the school oval. There are also other stores on the left, including what appears to be a newsagents. The first school in the Emerald District No.2110 opened in 1879 with 25 students in a rented room on Avon Rd, East Emerald (now Avonsleigh). That school was closed in 1909 and the Emerald State School No.3381 was opened in the Emerald township. In 1915 a permanent school was built in Heroes Avenue where it remains today. The celebration of the centenary in 1979 was a large community event involving former and current students and staff as well as local residents. The donor bought souvenir spoons, including this one, for her children who were students at the time.This spoon commemorates the centenary of the Emerald Primary School 1879-1979.Commemorative silver-plated teaspoon with a round metal green and gold plaque on the handle with an image of the school and commemorative information. The spoon is mounted on a faux velvet cardboard lining in a clear plastic display case.On plaque on handle: 'EMERALD SCHOOL CENTENARY / 1879-1979' On lining at the top in gold lettering: 'Stokes'emerald state school
