Mr Frank Wicking (1877-1915):
Frank Wicking was born on July 19, 1877, at Garvoc, western Victoria, the sixth child of Thomas and Emma Wicking's ten children. Frank loved the outdoors and was a beekeeper, gardener and sketch artist. He worked as a labourer around the district, including at a local quarry. He passed away at only 37 years of age, leaving his wife, Mary, with three children aged 13 to 4 years. One of the children was Thomas Allen Wicking (1907-1995). He passed away on December 13, 1915, aged 37, and was buried in the Warrnambool Cemetery, southwest Victoria. The photograph is a historical record of Frank Wiking, a locally born quarry worker. He was born in the mid-19th century, to pioneers Thomas and Emma Wicking, and father of local historian, Tom Wicking.Photograph of a male adult, mounted behind glass, in a wooden frame with a carved, decorative border featuring trees, and a gold coloured inner border.
