The Nurses Board was established in 1924 and became responsible for the registration and regulation of General Nursing. The circular stipulates regulations around continuing to be a registered nurse, stating that the Act requires a yearly fee of two shillings and sixpence each December and that a metal badge may be purchased at the cost of three shillings and sixpence and woven badges to wear on caps may be supplied at one shilling per dozen. The regulations are strict and there is no reminder of payment due, and if it is missed, then the nurses name will be removed from the register and only reinstated after a satisfactory explanation and then a fee cost of five shillings.
