Original homestead built 1837 at Allwood by G. Haley, later (1868) sold to F.G. Hurst who lived here from 1857 with his parents - also the scene of the shooting (and death) of Henry Facey Hurst (elder brother of F.G.) by the bushranger Burke on 4 October 1866.
