Federated Municipal Employees' Union was formed in 1910. It has undergone subsequent name changes as follows: -Federal Municipal and Shire Council Employees' Union of Australia (1917). -Australian Municipal Administrative Clerical & Services Union (1993) - a merger with the Australian Municipal Transport Energy -Water Ports Community & Information Services Union.
