This stencil was used as an organisation identification stamp for the transportation of wool bales. Dalgety and Company Limited was a wool store company founded in Melbourne in 1846 by Frederick Gonnermann Dalgety. A wool store was built on the Geelong waterfront in 1891 and was in continual use until 1954. Wool bales marked with Dalgety would have been processed with the company. Presumably created in 1907 to highlight achievements in the previous 50 years of selling wool in Geelong. Booklet features images of wool sales, wool stores, wool shipping and train transport within Geelong CBD, as well as meat sales and shipping.Booklet with red paper cover set to a landscape orientation. Gold text on the front cover with a swirling design surrounding the heading and encircling a sketch of the Geelong waterfront. Small box on bottom left corner describes authors of the book. Booklet is 36 pages, all white pages, several with images and text, but many with just images or just text. The Geelong Rest located at 3 Moorabool Street was created in 1895. The building depicted in the photograph ( taken from the Western Beach Road) is known as the King Edward VII Sailors' Rest building; it was designed by architect Percy Everett and replaced the older building in 1912. In 1901, it became the Geelong branch of the Mission to Seamen. Set of 12 colour views of Geelong on a folded strip, glued within a colour printed cover, titled "A Souvenir of Geelong", printed on both sides of the strip. Booklet printed with an address area on rear. Produced by Nulcolorvue Productions, Mentone, Victoria. The rear has a slit on the rear cover that allowed the folder to be secured. The Geelong Harbour Trust (GHT) was formed in 1905. This seal was used by the Trust Commissioner from 1909-1981 for impressing official documents. It's use was strictly controlled and dictated by the Regulations as contained in the Geelong Harbor Trust Annual Report from 1909. "The common seal of the Commissioner shall be kept under lock and key. Two locks shall be kept by the Chairman of Commissioners and the other of which the Secretary shall have a key. A duplicate key of each lock shall be lodged at such Bank as the Commissioner may direct. The common seal shall be used only by order of the Commissioners" (Regulations, Geelong Harbor Trust, Annual Report 1909). Captain George A. Molland was appointed Harbor Master of the Port (1900-1905) and then Harbor Master of the GHT from 1900-1936 when he retired, aged 88 years. He was replaced by Captain H. Saunders (1936-1950) followed by Captain D.G. Hancox.The seal is significant for its connections to physical changes made to the Geelong waterfront by the Harbor Trust from 1905. The Official Seal was a highly regarded formal object that was used for nearly 80 years by the Trust. The object is significant for its historic connections to the Harbor Masters and Commissioners who used it as part of official communication from the Trust.A seal used for impressing official stationary from the Geelong Harbor Trust. Object is made of cast iron, brass and steel with a large winding handle, screwed to a wooden board and painted black. Gold decorative paint is on the main body and a small portion of the winding handle."F.J. Metal sign (one of two- the other is missing) that previously hung on one side of the main entrance door at Dalgety Wool Store on Gheringhap St (now Deakin University waterfront campus). Sign was polished daily by Percy Johnson, a janitor at the building in the 1960's. Donor worked at the building as a clerk between 1958 - 1982. Sign was found by a metal collector by the side of the road c.2018. Metal sign with pressed text. Possibly brass. May have originally been gold colour but now a dull brown. Vicki is a Geelong-based visual artist whose practice spans murals, painting, and soft felt sculpture. She creates both large and small-scale murals throughout Geelong and surrounding districts, often drawing on themes of community and social connection. Working from her central Geelong studio, Pip-Squeak-Art, she produces commissioned pet portraits and exhibition pieces, alongside sculptural works crafted from wool. Her socially motivated approach is especially visible in her street-scape paintings, which appear in both her canvas work and public murals. Vicki also does conservation work on the City’s much loved bollards. Commissioned for the City of Greater Geelong 2025 Christmas program. The painting was reproduced as mural on a carousel. Painting depicting children playing on the waterfront with two women in the foreground, one wearing a yellow hat and dress, the other wearing a teal shirt with red antlers.
